Catherine’s career is founded in creative project management, coaching and facilitation in a diverse range of sectors including private, public and not-for-profit. She is a self motivated leader having run her own small design business after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Her passion for people development inspired further training and she now runs her own coaching and facilitation consultancy.Catherine has over 15 years experience in a wide range of roles including adult education, disability, tourism, major events and residential and commercial design.
She is a certified Coach and Wellness Counselor and a certified Fitness Leader. She is an experienced individual coach and workshop facilitator. Her approach to coaching is to develop a holistic coaching alliance underpinned by a client centred, solution oriented approach. Based on the clients needs, Catherine uses a range of coaching tools including the GROW model.
Examples of Catherine’s recent work activities include:
- Annual design and management of the overall IPAA Learning and Development (L&D) Program
- Designed and delivered the IPAA Mentoring cross government program and agency specific programs. These programs aim to build the capacity of individuals and agencies in the public sector. Skills based learning included coaching skills, giving and receiving feedback, learning styles assessment. These skills can be practiced in the workplace.
- Providing solution oriented, client centered coaching services to individuals
- Developing competency-based peer-support programs which facilitated peer skills assessment. I designed the assessment instrument and facilitated participants to move through the learning phases from unconscious incompetence to unconscious competence.
- Developing and delivering training on communication & teamwork, group work, problem solving, stress management, peer support, role modelling, giving and receiving feedback, goal setting and motivation, change management
- Developing and delivering a policy and procedures manual and supporting 80 team members through change
- Managing recruitment and retention
- Facilitating performance management of the 80 supporters of people with intellectual disability
- Developed and delivered education programs to vulnerable populations (women recovering from addiction at Elizabeth Fry Society) on topics such as Listening and Attending behaviours, stress management, goal setting and motivation.
- Designed and delivered tailored programs to the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Vancouver.
